iPhone SE RAM
According to the Chinese spec sheet, the new iPhone SE will ship with 3GB of RAM as previously rumored. This puts the SE ahead of the iPhone 8, which had just 2GB of RAM and behind the iPhone 11 series, which ships with 4GB of RAM.
Presumably, the iPhone SE will need less RAM because it doesn’t have the same hardware requirements of the flagship iPhone 11 and 11 Pro.
iPhone SE Battery
The listing also claims the iPhone SE is equipped with the same 1,821 mAh battery as the iPhone 8. Apple states on its website that the iPhone SE second generation has about the same battery life as the iPhone 8, so it would make sense that the two phones have identical batteries.
Though, these details won’t be confirmed until the phone goes on sale later this month. Once the phone is released, repair shops like iFixit and other Apple enthusiasts are first in line to purchase the phone and tear it apart. Only once the internals have been analyzed will we be able to confirm these final details.
Customers interested in grabbing the $399 entry-level phone can do so starting on April 17th when Apple starts taking pre-orders. Pre-ordering will begin at 5 AM Pacific Time and is available online at Apple and wireless carriers. The iPhone SE starts at $399 for the 64GB, $449 for 128GB and $549 for the 256GB version.
Customers can also wait for April 24th when the phone goes on sale at Apple Authorized retailers like Best Buy. With the coronavirus epidemic, customers likely have to work around store closures and manage curbside pickups when arranging to get a phone.
