Jumping LungeYou can trash all of your holiday shopping lists right now. Sarah Koenig just gave us all the best present of all: the new season of “Serial.” This time around, Koenig and her team focus on Bowe Bergdahl, a U.S. soldier who left his post in Afghanistan in 2009, was taken captive by the Taliban, and made national headlines when he was returned to the U.S. almost five years later. “Unlike our story in season one, this one extends far out into the world,” Koenig writes on SerialPodcast.org. “It reaches into swaths of the military, the peace talks to end the war, attempts to rescue other hostages, our Guantanamo policy. What Bergdahl did made me wrestle with things I’d thought I more or less understood, but really didn’t: what it means to be loyal, to be resilient, to be used, to be punished.”
We’re so amped about the new season that we created our alternative to a drinking game to go along with it: an exercise game. It’ll help you stay active while you’re enjoying the podcast over the next several weeks. Happy listening!
