Stranger #59/100: Ms. Fitness
Leigh Guda is the 36-year old, Filipina, Ms. Fitness winner of the 5th Asia Pacific 2011 held at Boracay Island last March 2011 organized by the National Amateur Bodybuilders Association.
I spotted her at NCCC Mall where the Ginoong Kadayawan bodybuilding competition was being held. She was invited by the organizers to perform an exhibition of her fitness routine to entertain the crowd. It just so happened also that her boyfriend Cocoi Domalsin was one of the 12 contestants that day and later become the overall champion of Ginoong Kadayawan body building competition.
Before the program, she was wearing jogging pants and tank top covering her athletic body. When she performed her routine on stage, she stripped it little by little revealing a marvelously fit and sexy body while dancing to an upbeat house music. The crowd was awed. She danced, swayed, did some splits, and posed like a body builder in a very feminine sort of way. I managed to take some pictures while she performed even when I was in an awkward spot.
After her performance, me and my friend Jimmy who was a former body builder himself and now a hobbyist and personal trainer immediately when backstage to ask for a photo. When we got there, she was already surrounded by both eager male fans and body builders asking pictures of her with their mobile phones. She was nevertheless very accommodating. Even with all the sweat from the performance, she posed willingly and never seemed to run out of poses for every fan who would asked for pictures. Jimmy and I took turns taking pictures with her after asking permission.
The backstage was very dark, a nightmare for one who had no external flash. So for this picture, I decided to increase my ISO to 2500 and open the aperture to f/1.8. I did not mind having grainy pictures as long as it is not blurry. The guy with the abs on the background by the way was last year’s champion.
Thanks Miss Leigh.
