This Crème Brûlée Cookie Recipe Requires Only Three Ingredients

A person torches the top of a cookie.

If you’re not much of a baker (like me), impressing people with your cookie-making skills might seem like a pipe dream. Thanks to a recent TikTok recipe, though, you might just be able to pull it off!

All Recipes uploaded a clever crème brûlée cookie recipe to its TikTok that requires only three ingredients (and a kitchen torch, of course). The results look ultra-impressive, but the steps are simple.

First, you don’t even have to make the cookies. You just grab a pack of prebaked sugar cookies at the store, and then follow the directions on the package. The only change is that you should bake them for a little less time because you want them to be a bit underdone.

Pull them out of the oven and use a spoon to make a divet in the center. Then, top the divet with vanilla pudding and sugar. Finally, you grab your kitchen torch and caramelize the pudding on top. Now, you’ve got a batch of crème brûlée cookies that seem a heck of a lot fancier than they actually are.

Now, if you’re like me, you might not have a kitchen torch, and buying one to make one batch of cookies might seem extravagant. However, cooking torches come in handy for lots of things—and not just in the kitchen.

If you make a lot of patty or tuna melts, paninis, or even grilled cheese, a kitchen torch will really come in handy. For breakfast, you can even use your torch to add a bit of caramelization to the top of a cut grapefruit.

You can use this tiny little blow torch to thaw out your car locks in winter, like our editor in chief.

So, next time you need to make an impressive batch of cookies, crème-brûlée style might be the way to go.
